Casey Byrd is an Agriculture and Natural Resource County Agent with the University of Kentucky, specializing in horticulture, agriculture, and environmental education. With over a decade of experience in natural resources, geography, controlled environment agriculture, composting, and community-based education, Casey has developed a strong record of program leadership, technical expertise, and collaborative research. A certified instructor in Kentucky Commercial Pesticide Application and Beef Quality Care and Assurance, she brings both technical and human-centered skills to her work.
Academically, Casey earned a master’s degree in Geography from the University of Kentucky, where her research focused on composting and sustainability, and a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies and Sustainability from the University of Massachusetts Boston, graduating summa cum laude. Her career is marked by a commitment to agricultural innovation, sustainability education, and inclusive community engagement.
