Misty Howard, PHR, SHRM-CP is the Assistant Director of Faculty Resources in the Office of Faculty Resources, Planning and Assessment for M-G CAFE. She works to simplify the lives of faculty, staff, and academic unit leaders by providing timely and helpful resources on a variety of administrative topics.

A first-generation college graduate, Misty is an accomplished Human Resource professional with more than 25 years of progressive experience in both the public and private sectors. She has an extensive background in full-cycle recruitment and retention, on boarding, employee relations, benefits and wellness, payroll, training, auditing, budgeting, compensation, policy development, legal compliance, safety, procurement, and event planning. Misty graduated summa cum laude from Sullivan University and received the President’s Award for her academic achievements, is a Member of the National Technical Honor Society, a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) through the Human Resource Certification Institute, a Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), received Human Resource Certification through the University of Kentucky Business Procedure Certification Series, and was one of the first staff at the University to complete the Global Engagement Academy certificate.

Misty participated in and volunteered for the Clark County Fair and Horse Show, Inc. for nearly 20 years.  A former Miss Clark County, she served as the Pageant Director, Executive Board Member, and Secretary. During her tenure as an Executive Board Member, the Fair achieved the 2002 Most Progressive Fair Award and the 2006 first runner up Most Progressive Fair Award, reaching an all-time high attendance record of over 40,000. She was instrumental in structuring and rebuilding the annual catalog, winning the 2008 Kentucky Association of Fairs & Horse Shows state award. Misty was featured in several television commercials, print ads, style shows and judged pageants for many years.

Misty is grateful and honored to serve the faculty, staff and students at MG-CAFE. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering in her hometown, cheering on her football playing family, supporting the arts, and cruising the back roads of her “old Kentucky home.”
