Dr. Sarah Sprayberry is a dedicated scholar and educator whose work sits at the nexus of agricultural literacy and nutrition education, particularly for underserved youth. After earning both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Animal Science at Texas A&M, she deepened her expertise with a Ph.D. in Agriculture Leadership, Education and Communications at Texas A&M.

At the university level, Dr. Sprayberry teaches graduate courses in statistics and research methods as she aims to prepare students to conduct rigorous social science research. For undergraduates, she teaches courses in agriculture advocacy, extending the classroom into real-world contexts with her Foundations of Teaching Agriculture class, and Professional Development in Agriculture Education. In each, she hopes to effectively prepare the next generation of advocates and educators to lead in the agricultural field.

Her research is focused on bridging educational gaps, especially by mitigating barriers faced by communities. Dr. Sprayberry has worked both internationally and nationally on a variety of research projects that strive to empower young people with the tools to make informed, healthy food choices as well as become advocates for the food and fiber industry.
