Dr. Kiersten Wise is a Professor of Plant Pathology and an Extension Specialist with responsibilities for disease management in corn, sorghum and forage crops. Her research focuses on creating cost-effective and sustainable methods for managing diseases in field crops, including research on the biology of plant pathogens. This research helps identify practices that not only improve the efficiency of grain and forage crop production but also enhance our understanding of how pathogens interact with their hosts. Her research on optimizing corn fungicide applications is nationally recognized. Dr. Wise also coordinates national grain crop fungicide efficacy projects and co-leads the North Central IPM Alfalfa Working Group Project.
